Gallery 1988 & Hello Giggles Present “Young Adult”

I recently attended Gallery 1988 and Hello Giggles’ premiere of Young Adult, in which 60 female artists showcase pieces inspired by their favorite childhood literature.

The exhibition is curated by Hello Giggles owners Zooey Deschanel, Sophia Rossi and Molly McAleer, and gives new visual flare to childhood classics such as Nancy Drew and Goosebumps. From plush dolls to acrylic wood paintings, the forms used were as broad as the stories that gave inspiration. Here are a few of pieces and artists that caught my eye.
