Stop-Motion Film Made With 350,00 Post-It Notes
Brazilian shoe brand Melissa recently employed 350,000 colored Post-It notes as “pixels” for a video that took 25 animators five months to create.
The Post-its were installed in the foyer of Melissa’s flagship store in São Paulo, and the resulting movie features a parade of psychedelic imagery—elephants, balloons and flowers, oh my!
The whole endeavor was part of the brand’s “Power of Love” campaign, and was a pretty clever one-two punch of marketing— the installation itself engaged people on the street (more than 30K passers-by wrote personal love messages on the Post-Its), while the subsequent stop-motion video has gone viral online.
