Aryz: Street Art & Paintings

Aryz is a painter and graffiti artist from Barcelona. He creates stunning and intricately detailed works using mostly spray paint and paint rollers.

I love how his pieces exude a sense of cartoonish fun and wonder even while invoking themes of death, loss and renewal. I also like how he pulls the viewer into scenes with what appear to be fully realized characters and storylines, leaving one to ruminate on the before and after.

I find it interesting that his flesh & blood characters often seem to be grappling with some kind of uncertainty or hardship, whereas his dead/undead characters seem liberated or even downright festive, as if jubilant to be freed from this mortal coil.
