Double Tiger: “No Give Up”
Double Tiger is the electronic dub moniker of Jay Spaker, a Brooklyn-based producer and performer who has shared the stage with the likes of Burning Spear, Toots, the Meditations, Mad Professor and more.
Already known for his work as J-san & The Analogue Sons, Spaker created Double Tiger as a means to “travel deeper into the unexplored territories of electronic, roots and dub.” 1
‘No Give Up’ is the first single from his debut album Nebula (2012 Hydra Records), for which he did all of the vocals, production and writing. It is a slow and infectious scorcher of a track, pulling the user in with a groove that is bleak, beautiful, and relentless.
As a huge dub/reggae head I’ve been really feeling this tune, as well as its various remixes by the likes of J-Kenzo (Tempa), AZZXSSS (Hydra), T-AK (Hospital Records) and the dub legend himself, Scientist.
